Good night, world! I’m off to watch Law and Order SVU
Hello, my friends!
How are you? Is everything ok?? I hope it is and I hope that you are having a great end of this crazy summer! My Big man is back to work and I’m back to my crafting after having spent four days in Croatia. There is a lot of things to talk about and I was wondering which photos share with you first. There are many of them to be shown, in particular those from our holidays are quite interesting, but I decided to start with the craft done before leaving, to put some order in the last week happenings. Both because I’d like to do justice to a great crochet designer and a friend and because I’d like to show you my first Xmas scarf FO yesterday night 🙂
As first, let start with the second bag I sewed for the family girls. I have found a tutorial for a really nice bag. I have simply fell in love with it and decided to try myself with, even if it looked a bit tricky…. well, it wasn’t so difficult to sew but I have had some problems with the union of the top and the bottom since the main fabric and the lining have to be attached in the same time…. oh,my version of it isn’t so bad at all, since I use jute and it looks quite cozy, but if I want to sew an elegant version, like the one from the tutorial, I have to be more careful…. here are the photos of my bag…
I find it so suitable for my artistic SIL! Very simple, made out from some natural fabric as jute and with one beautiful flower to adorn it. I hope she will like it 🙂 What do you think about my versione of the Canvas Slim Bag? Do you like it and, in particular, do you like the crocheted flower? I’m so very happy to introduce this ornament to you because its pattern was written by my friend Jennifer whose blog, Squirrel Picnic, I simply adore. This lovely lady is writing a crochet book, The Big Acorn Race, and asked me to be a tester for her pattern for this lovely flower named Tall ‘n’ Fast!
Can you imagine how happy and honoured I was and am to have taken part to her beautiful project!!! I highly recommend you to have a look at her blog, you’ll find there a lot of inspiration, and follow her during the book writing! She’s a genious indeed!! Can’t wait to see the book! Hi, Jennifer, hugs are crossing the ocean!! ❤
The first Xmas scarf is done! YIPPEE!!! I have started it a while ago and since I worked only during evenings I’m happy that it is FO 🙂 Since today it is quite cloudy I was lucky to have caught some sunshine during the photo session 😀
A simple seed stitch and some nice soft yarn, a mixture of cotton and merino wool, in a nice dark brown shade. So manly, don’t you think? 😉
I’ll be back soon with my holiday photos.

Hello, my friends!!
These are dog days indeed!!!We reached 35°C and I am hardly able to do anything with this heat! Oh,add to this temperature a relative humidity of 73%… ohhhhh…. The only way I can face this weather is by knitting …. (what an excuse, isn’t it…? 😉 ) …. the border of my Crescent shawl is slowly growing….
I do hope that it will be finished off for the weekend…. Can’t wait to wear it!!
My Big man and me were at a local antiquity street market last weekend and we made a lovely purchase …. well,it was more like this…
Me: Oh, look!!! I love that! We absolutely must have that at ours!!! (read: I absolutely must have that at mine!!! ….. it is only me, or sometimest it happens to you too to think you live by yourself…. in particular when it is a matter of home decor….)
My Big man:
(ONLY BECAUSE HE CAN’T UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF THE OBJECT I FELL IN LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT….)
Let me introduce you….
MY VERY FIRST CUPCAKE STAND
The photo does not do justice to the stand but I’ll try to take some better ones in the future. I simply love it! And, of course, I tried to bake some muffins just to see how the stand looks when there are sweets on it…
Better, don’t you think? Now I have to learn to make cupcakes and try to decorate them just because!! Well, even if my Big man doesn’t understand my enthusiasm for those useless things, he will love to pick up a muffin from the stand for breakfast from now on 🙂
Off to try to refresh me somehow!
Have a nice evening!

Hello, my friends!
I’m a bit absent-minded lately… or at least I feel like that…. A lot of things are happening in these days mostly related to small every day issues which are fixed as you go but which do not allow me to be online as often as I used to be. Well,on one hand, that’s not so bad because I’m often out but, on the other, I follow less the news in blogland… I have to say that here is not like live in Parma. It takes me half an hour or forty minutes by bike to reach the nearest grocery shop so if I want anything it takes me something like two hours for fetch it… go out, time spent in the shop, a chat, and go back home… But if you have seen my photos on Instagram you can easy understand why I don’t mind spending so much time out….
Since it is fifteen years that I do not practice any sport (except working or similar obligatory ‘to do’ stuff… ) my muscular ache was quite bad lately and that made me feel quite dizzy… Now I feel much better but the time I need to ride around is the same… and there is less of it to dedicate to blogland…
I’m always crafting… I always find time for create and even if now I have my Big man both at lunch and dinner (YIPPEE!!!!) I didn’t neglect my craft.
I’m both working on my curtains….
…. and on my Crescent shawl…
Talking about this last project of mine…. I made a mistake in this central part of the shawl… I realized, after two rows knitted already, that I had lost a stitch…. and this was the result….
Can you spot the three holes…? They don’t exactly look like a honeycomb, do they….? By the way, this lace looks much alike a honeycomb… well, I was thinking about leaving this as it is but the awareness of those three holes’ existance annoyed me to the point that I had to find a solution…
Spotted the fixed part, the one indicated by the hook?Oh, I didn’t do anything special except bring a string of yarn up to the last worked row… it still does not look like a honeycomb but it is much better than having three ugly holes which can be easily noticed by anyone… Yes, I know, I’m exhausting… indeed…
It is time to make dinner here so I’m off to prepare something for the two of us…
Have a nice evening ❤ ❤ ❤

Hello,my friends!!
What a hard job it was!! The moving, then the house decorating, the first curtain hanged, the rides …. and finally the binding off of the mustard dress…… but….phew,I have never had a harder bind off…. there was no end to it ….
…. but then it happened… yesterday night, around a half past midnight….. the last stitch was bound off and I fell asleep immediately after….
The first thing I’ve done this morning was to go for a ride since I was sealed in house for two days trying to have my garment FO… There was some fresh air highly needed indeed…. And as I got home I steamed the dress and ta-dah….
While uploading the photos I was browsing my old posts to see if I had already written about the yarn, but I wasn’t able to find anything… I have only found the post about the beginning of this project and, in fact, I’d started it exactly while searching for a new home here in Peschiera… I’m so pleased I’ve finished it and so happy to have 5 balls left because this amount of yarn will be enough for a Crescent shawl… I’d purchased the yarn from Katia and I had taken all she had because it was the last lot produced in this specific colour shade … thirteen balls in total. There’s no need to tell you that as I saw the yarn I had already known what I would have done with it 🙂 I was only affraid to not have enough for both garments but there’s no doubt anymore… 🙂 As soon as I’ll be able to,I’ll post a photo of me wearing my little dress fully accessorized! Up till then I say bye and wish you a great weekend!!I’m off to bake something now, like that… just because I’m in a good mood…

PS: Sheila, your parcel has arrived exactly while I was writing this post…. Excited,me…?? No,why…? Do I look like an exited person…. ??? No,not at all…. I’M A VULCANO ERUPTING EXITEMENT!!!! My first parcel in the new home!!! YIPPEE!!!!!!!
PPS: I forgot to tell you about the pattern!!! It is Ombre Tank, found here. I have had to adjust it for my body but it was quite easy to do! I love this blog, I find it so fresh..
…. between cleaning, dusting, throwing away the garbage (a lot of garbage…. Kim Woodburn and Aggie MacKenzie from How Clean Is Your House? would be very proud of me….) and packing, I can even find some time to knit…. not much because my yellow tunic is slowly growing….
…. slowly but still growing…. 🙂 🙂 🙂
