FO :: Tubular sweater

Hello,my friends!!

It is so lovely to be home again (….. have I just called Parma “home”…. ??? …. Oh, God,that’s it!! I’m at my ease, at last!!!) and scroll the latest blog updates to see what had happened while I was away! And there’s so much to be seen indeed!!How many beautiful things were crafted in a week!!! And how many colours and shapes!! It’s always spring in blogsphere ❤ ❤ ❤

Since the weather in Croatia was mostly like this….

…. I had spent my time knitting and finished off the tubular sweater I started the day before leaving Parma..

…. and these are the photo and the link from where I copied the idea..

I do hope I knitted the sweater well… no pattern, the 8 mm circular needles, the topdown technique and the crochet edging on the arm holes… Last thing to do is to send the sweater to my friend hoping that she will like it and that the measurements are ok…

Oh,fingers crossed….

FO :: Elisabeth Lovick’s Crescent Shawl and a really magnificent gift

Hello, my dear friends!

These last two weeks were quite busy and intensely lived, in particular in its affective and emotional aspect. My Big man is working an awfully lot and the days he was at home I was focused on him and our life together and didn’t have the right concentration to blog. Well, to be honest, we are facing some issues that require a lot of energy and self confidence so I prefered being present in the real life rather than in the virual one. On the other hand, I didn’t stop to craft mostly because this is the best way to muse about everyday life and its problems as well as because my hands were itching to craft something from Elisabeth Lovick’s book.

But before writing about my last FO I’d like to show you what bmaryglaser sent me from the States…

The American Cook Book…

I have secretly desired it for ages…. and it is exactly as I imagined it….

…..just woooooooooooooooooooooow…..

That kind lady called Brittany Mary put in the parcel another amazing item…..

….which, as I saw it, made me recall Janis Joplin’s song Me and Bobby McGee….

Bmary glued all the pieces of this beautiful car all by herself…. how, for God’s sake, can’t I be moved to tears… ?

And last but not least, she crocheted a beautiful headband and wrote me a gorgeous card…

Bmary, I forgot to tell you that I’m on my way to make my hair grow under my Big man’s strict demand…. I think that this summer I will be the coolest girl in town…. 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

What can I say…. when I saw the contents of the parcel I was astonished!!! It is far beyond my expectations and I really don’t know how to thank you properly, Bmary!!! I enjoy every single goodie you sent me. Thank you ❤ ❤ ❤

Now, the Crescent shawl…. the photos just do not do it justice. I’ll try to make a better photo session of the shawl next week (I’m traveling to Croatia on Thursday) but up till then….

I have finished off the shawl an hour ago and have blocked it on the bed. I do not usually soak my knitted projects monstly because I do not have an appropriate surface to put them to dry …. I usually wet them with an odor eliminator, block them and make dry on the bed. Well, it works almost as well as soaking…. 🙂

I’m in love with Shetland lace…. I was so affrait not to be able to knit the shawl but it had turned out better that I could have eventually expected…. It was such a pleasure knitting this goodie as well as seeing it shaping while blocking…. and the colour…. it is not an usual red… oh no.. it is a nice cherry red that I love really much….

Dear Jennifer, your first goodie is ready 🙂 🙂 🙂 I’ll focus on a second one now… 🙂 🙂 🙂

A WIP and a new project

Hello, my friends!

There’s no need to tell you that I’m already working on new projects, is there….? 😉

I have already shown you the cross stitch Audrey pattern and stuff….well, this beautiful lady is taking shape on my Aida cloth…

This is the second time that I’m cross stitching her and the pleasure is the same as the first one…. 🙂 🙂 🙂

New day, new knitting project, new yarn…

I will try to knit the following garment…. asked me by a friend of mine….

Per Betty

Hm hm hm ….. the only place where I’ve seen this tubular sweater is here … with no knitting directions….  I really hope that I’ll be able to reproduce well the pattern… I’m going to knit it straight, with neither increases nor decreases, following the shoulder lenght for shape the arm holes …. but I’m not quite sure if a garment of that kind would be wearable… well,I think that the dear friend of mine wouldn’t mind to test it… I’ll make the most of my skill and the yarn and, eventually, we are always in time to undo it and make something else, if necessary… 🙂

Off to make lunch….

PS: The grey yarn is merino while the white is a mix of wool and alpaca, both to be worked on a 8mm circular needles…. I’m in heaven….

FO :: the tee

Hello, my friends!

I’m enjoying an early aperitif today….

…. that because my tee (which turned out being a tunic more than a tee….) is FINISHED OFF…. I feel a bit stoned now… (too much wine in my drink….) so I’ll let the photos speak for me…

Sorry for the creases, but this is how it will look like in the real life…. 🙂 🙂 🙂 I like it…. this is how I have imagined it at the beginning and can’t feel more happier indeed…. Now I can relax…. just for the night 🙂 🙂 🙂 Tomorrow I’ll be crafting again…

I have almost forgotten…. I knitted this tunic to be worn in spring and early summer… Well,it seems that all the seasons are perfect…. 🙂 🙂 🙂 YIPPEE!!!!!

My friends, thank you so much for your support! As I always say, and will never stop saying, there would be no craft at mine without you, I owe you a lot and will always be thankful for your being there!!

Look, it’s growing… slowly…

Hello, my friends and happy Sunday!!

I’m spending the weekend alone which means that I have needles in my hands all the time….

….. and the tee is growing …. slowly…. veeeeeeeeeeeery slowly….

… I’m almost there…. two more cotton balls and it will be FO….

…. something like two days of knitting…. can’t wait….. !!!!

In the meantime I have done some shopping….

…. no I’m not a high heels kind of girl…. I’m more a boot like…. yeah, mine are all of the same type….

…. and I’ve tried a new recipe for a super quick apple pie, an easy one given by my friend Katia who said me that her Grandmother used to bake it….

…. it’s delicious, so perfec to cheer up my lonely days… 🙂 Would you like a piece? Come along and take one! I’ll make some tea too, or you prefer coffee? 🙂 🙂 🙂 There’s both at mine 🙂 🙂 🙂 …

Have a nice evening!
