FO :: the mustard little dress

Hello,my friends!!

What a hard job it was!! The moving,then the house decorating,the first curtain hanged,the rides …. and finally the binding off of the mustard dress…… but….phew,I have never had a harder bind off…. there was no end to it ….

…. but then it happened… yesterday night, around a half past midnight….. the last stitch was bound off and I fell asleep immediately after….

The first thing I’ve done this morning was to go for a ride since I was sealed in house for two days trying to have my garment FO… There was some fresh air highly needed indeed…. And as I got home I steamed the dress and ta-dah….

 

While uploading the photos I was browsing my old posts to see if I had already written about the yarn,but I wasn’t able to find anything… I have only found the post about the beginning of this project and, in fact, I’d started it exactly while searching for a new home here in Peschiera… I’m so pleased I’ve finished it and so happy to have 5 balls left because this amount of yarn will be enough for a Crescent shawl… I’d purchased the yarn from Katia and I had taken all she had because it was the last lot produced in this specific colour shade … thirteen balls in total. There’s no need to tell you that as I saw the yarn I had already known what I would have done with it 🙂 I was only affraid to not have enough for both garments but there’s no doubt anymore… 🙂 As soon as I’ll be able to,I’ll post a photo of me wearing my little dress fully accessorized! Up till then I say bye and wish you a great weekend!!I’m off to bake something now, like that… just because I’m in a good mood…

PS: Sheila,your parcel has arrived exactly while I was writing this post…. Excited,me…?? No,why…? Do I look like an exited person…. ??? No,not at all…. I’M A VULCANO ERUPTING EXITEMENT!!!! My first parcel in the new home!!! YIPPEE!!!!!!!

PPS: I forgot to tell you about the pattern!!! It is Ombre Tank, found here. I have had to adjust it for my body but it was quite easy to do! I love this blog, I find it so fresh..

The end of the journey

Sorry,but I always have problems in taking photos of myself… the above one is one of the best I took today…

I have to be honest and say that this is not what I meant when I started to knit my garment… I wanted something more womanly but, on the contrary, I crafted a super casual long waistcoat… perfect for everyday life but which do not tell me anything at all …. maybe I’m just judging my work too hard but I could do better than that indeed.. at last, since we have snow here, it will keep me warm… 🙂

Since I was quite desperate about my knitting lately I decided that it’s high time to try a new method, the TOP DOWN KNITTING … I have never tried to knit that way and have to follow some tutorials and patterns found online. It seems to me that garments knitted that way look more elegant so… I have some cotton yarn at mine which I’d bought a long time ago and which seems quite suitable for this kind of project.. do you tried to knit that way? Have you any advice for me? Please, let me know, it will speed up my learning phase quite a lot ….

It’s all about that neck….

….. or, at least, I hope so….

….. helped by Katia, the owner of my fav yarn store (God, how I hate she has no website to show you….. ), I’ve finished the large turtleneck of my tunic…. I saw myself on the big mirror she has in her store (there’s no one similar at mine…. 😦 ) and realized that my garment does not look so bad at all….. now there are the arm hole edgings to be knitted and it will be finished…. fingers crossed….

What to say….

I’m so disappointed…. my dress turned out so badly…. 😦 😦 😦 I still can’t understand why… there was no specific pattern, only a V neckline and a rib edging on the arm holes…. I tried it on and… oh,my Grandma has a more lively look than me…. the dress is so old fashioned…. what a frustration…. It is a bit large too,a fact that certainly do not help to make it wearable…. so I’ve undone the neck and the arm hole edging….

….. and now I’m knitting a large turtleneck ….. once finished, I’ll see if it would be worth the effort or if undoing would be a better solution…..

DID SOMETING SIMILAR HAPPEND TO YOU TOO? WHAT DO YOU DO IN THESE SITUATIONS?

PS: I’m knitting the front side of my tunic/dress/mini dress, as you like it…..

Buzzing around…

……  knit, crochet, craft, buy, search, muse, think, combine, adjust….

….. I have to slow down… I have to indeed…. sometimes I have so many ideas, so many desires, but so little time and almost no space for crafting…. it’s like living in a continuous mental whirlwind….. you don’t believe me…. ? Have a look here below….

….. the back side of my dress is finished off….. height 80 cm …. ahem….

….. and just because I wanted it, I sewed myself a tablecloth to be used while crafting….

…. spots…. because I like spots…. and to be totally honest , I was tempted to make the blanket stitch all around and crochet a nice edging…. for my sake, I stopped my insticts in time….

…. does it happen to you too to have a real storm in your mind….. ? Please, tell yes so I can feel free to be insane in all innocence….

Hello,my dears!!

Yes, I know, I know, my insanity is wildly well known …. better, it has become my distinctive feature…. but, God, I can’t help myself, I just can’t stay without anything to do…. I must have my mind and hands always busy…. so….

…..oh, it is my turn, at last!!! I started my dress…. wow……….. I’m sooooooooooo excited!!!! I have had this yarn at mine for two months already and my hands were itching so badly to start this project….

I’m at the very beginning of this WIP and hope that it will turn out well….
